Peer Support

Peer Support promotes successful independent community living by supporting a consumer in achieving his/her behavioral health goals and ability to manage and independent community living situation. Peer support includes enhancing social networks to reduce isolation, engaging consumers with treatment providers, increasing hope and resiliency through role modeling, improving access to services and supports and emphasizing recovery and wellness. Recovery support is designed to advocate for consumers while assisting them in accessing community resources and fostering self-advocacy in others through the use of wellness and crisis prevention tools. Crisis relapse prevention, case management and referral to other independent living and behavioral health services are provided to assist the consumer in maintaining self-sufficiency.
